CHICAGO, IL – June 3, 2020 – Clean Energy Trust announced today that in response to COVID-19, it will use funds received from the Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator (IN2) Channel Partner Awards program to support its portfolio company, Igor, in the development and launch of a new product that safely and automatically disinfects rooms without human intervention.
Igor provides a versatile and easy to install power-over-ethernet platform solution to make commercial buildings smarter and more energy efficient. In response to COVID-19, Igor developed a patent-pending automated disinfection solution, Nexos Intelligent Disinfection. This product, unveiled today, leverages Igor’s smart building platform, Nexos, and commercially available ultraviolet (UVC) lighting and sensors to safely and automatically disinfect rooms without human intervention.
“Given the COVID-19 pandemic, we are designing a turn-key kitted solution for building operators and businesses to clean building interiors and minimize human contact,” said Dwight Stewart, Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Igor. “We are honored to receive Clean Energy Trust’s ongoing support and confidence in our technology and latest offering.”
“Wells Fargo and the Innovation Incubator program mobilized rapidly to support companies such as Igor during this global economic and health crisis. We are proud to partner with them to leverage Igor’s agility and ability to create innovative solutions such as their new automated disinfection product based on their IoT smart building technology,” said Erik Birkerts, Chief Executive Officer at Clean Energy Trust.
Igor will receive funds awarded to Clean Energy Trust by Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator (IN2) Channel Partner Awards program, a technology incubator and platform funded by the Wells Fargo Foundation and co-administered by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). IN2 expedited its latest funding phase to provide support for cleantech innovation in response to COVID-19.
