If you’re looking to up your game when it comes to closing gifts, consider the world of smart home tech!

The number of smart devices in homes around the country is expected to grow by 480% – from 42 million to 244 million – over the next five years, according to Forrester Research. Part of what is driving that explosion of smart home tech is that the products are getting easier to use and set up. Plus, more and more of these devices can talk to each other and be controlled from a central point – an app or voice controlled speaker, like Amazon Alexa. 

Set yourself apart. Show your clients that you are on the cutting edge of what consumers want in their home. Here are three products that can help you give your clients the gift of a smart & thoughtful home:

  • Belkin WeMo Mini Wi-Fi Smart Plug: This plug makes any small appliance “smart.” It uses outlets to connect appliances to the web, letting you to control them with your phone. At only $35, it’s an affordable upgrade and a great gift.  Wemo also works with Alexa and Google through voice commands, but we’re still waiting on Siri to catch-up.
  • Automatic Labs’ Connected Car Adapter: Smart home tech moves to the car! For just $99.95, this auto adapter diagnoses engine issues and helps you remember where you parked. But maybe even better, it can tell your Nest thermostat when you’re on the way home so you walk in to the perfect temperature.

It’s like having a personal assistant who takes care of everything before you wake up or walk in the door.For example, you can create automatic “routines” such as “work day wake up” – that will start your day with motivational music, turn on the heat and start the coffee! There’s an iOS and Android version and it also has skills for Google Home and Amazon Alexa.
